Movie and Game Reviews, and Such

  • Green Day- American Idiot- 5

This CD is arguably the best they have done. Definatly the best since Dookie. The rock opera style album links many of the songs together to tell a story and “Jesus of Suburbia” and “St. Jimmy” are just…great. They take a number of shorter songs and link them together, and just…wow. You could get a better review here. The Album shows what green day really has to offer, and combines the fun aspect of rock with songs like “Holiday” with the slower more relaxed side of rock with “Boulevard of Broken Dreams.” Another great thing is that Green Day didnt change their music. They grew since Dookie but have that same farmiliar sound that only green day can make. Seriously, read the review. A definate A+ and one that you should pick up.

  • Napolian Dynomite….5

Fucking Funny. But this isnt your typical movie. You see, Where most movies have plots, this one didnt. There were events. But nothing really happened. I think that because of this, there was nothing to take away from the funny. Where in most movies, you might be wondering, or predicting what happens next, and therefore taking your full attention away from what is happening at the very moment, you really didnt need to guess what was going to happen in the movie, because nothing was happening. It was just like, a bunch of funny stuff strewn together. As Mike said, “It was a porn, but instead of sex, there was funny stuff.” And its true. There was no real character development. But it was the funniest movie i have seen in a long time. After the movie, you dont really know what to make of it. So you just laugh. So thats what I have to say about that.

Now- I will go into this in full later, but here is a screen shot of my desktop. Click to enlarge.

Notice the cool stuff. Its an Alienware skin for Windows Explorer. Look back for more info later.
    …Later.

  • Without a Paddle…5

Real funny. Which is all you need in a comedy. Its about 3 friends who go on the adventure their recenly decesed friend never made. The 3 guys are the typical movie personas: The Wild Boy- Tom. The Average, but not Guy: Jerry, and the Afraid of Everything Guy: Dan. The road is filled with your normal stuff: 2 hill billie weed farmers, a bear, super hot chicks who are one with the forest, and an old guy. Plus, Seth Green does a very good C3P – 0. Defiantly see this movie. You’ll laugh your ass off.

  • Alien vs. Predator…3

Id say it was worth the money. It starts off slow, and kinda picks up towards the end. Basically, the Predators hunt the Aliens, who are in this underground pyramid, thousands of feet under antarctica. It was the first pyramid ever. There is this queen alien there who lays eggs every hundered years and the predators kill them. So the Predators know the aliens need humans to be born, and they lure the humans into this pyramid. And the battle ensues.
There are some very corny parts in the movie. But the fights, which is really the only reason you should see the movie, we pretty cool. There was really no epic one, and for that im disappointed. If you had the slightest thought of seeing this, go see it. If you have no desire, i dont recommend it. Me- I liked it- sort of. I wouldnt see it again though. It reminded me alot of Freddy vs. Jason. Alot alot actually. Later

  • The Bourne Supremecy…4.5

Ok- i didnt see the whole first one, but you really dont need to. I mean, you kind of do, for the begining of the movie. Anyway, it was awesome. Jason Bourne is still, 2 years later, trying to figure out who he was. Meanwhile, he gets framed for something that happened in Berlin, and boom, hes back on the map, running from the CIA. It keeps you guessing, and the action scenes kicked ass. There were a few plot twists, and the way it ends is probably the best way they could do it. I look forward to The Bourne Ultimatum. For those of you who dont know, these movies are based off of a 3 book series, and from what im told, they are much like the books. So thats cool. Def a movie worth seeing. Twice. Later.

  • Anchorman…4.5

Really Funny. Ive been asking around to people who saw wondering if it was better than Dodgeball. Well- no. But it was still hillarious. And you know- Christina Applegate is hot. But anyway- freakin funny. And there were alot of camios from people. I recommend it. There is one extremely funny scene with Ron, and the girl, whos name is Veronica. And some things. haha. This funniest guy was Brick though. He was played by the guy in Old School who tried to shut the Frat down- you remember? by the guy from the daily show. Well they called him brick because he was as dumb as one. And it shows. and proves for good comedy. So- see it! Later.

  • I, Robot…3.

Ok- So i didnt like it. I mean, there were cool scenes. And some GFX Effects were cool. But some were lame. and there is this one element to the movie that i cant put my finger on it. They tried to do too much with it. And it reminded me too much of the Terminator Movies. Now- I think I know why i didnt like it that much. Well, A- as Mike Gillan brought to my attention, there was a Major Plot Flaw in the movie. I wont mention it, cause i dont want to blow the movie, but let me know if you notice it. Its kind of hard to catch, but if you catch it, it screws up the plot. Also, it was a cool action movie, but at the end, the was like, an “after school special” moment. Im still going to see it again. Maybe I was just tired, and thats why i didnt like it. Casue Apparently, it was “fucking amazing”. So this is like a second draft. Ill prob see it again this weekend.

  • The Butterfly Effect…5

Holy Shit. First of all- this movie proves that Ashton Kutcher is not just some shitty comedy actor. Second of all- This movie was really fucking good. A movie that shows that no matter what you do, you can’t please everyone. Change One thing, change everything. It also presents the question If you could go back in time and change one thing, would you? Or I guess, could you. Watching it gave me chills. Like usual, i dont want to give it away by talking about it. Just be sure you are thinking about the movie while watching it. It was kind of predictable in some spots, but its not really until right before an even that you figure out whats going to happen. Later.

  • King Arthur…3.5

It was decent. I mean, every war movie follows a template. Hero who is trying to find inner self. Aragorn- king of men. Achillies- why does he kill? Arthur- is Rome really for freedom? cool fight scene at the beginning. Fellowship- the flashback battle. Troy- Where Achillies OWNS that guy- some no name. King Arthur- fight to save bishop. And then theres the big fight scene at the end, followed by closure, the moving speech by the main character, and leading lady who influences the main character, and a death for good measure. So, seeing as this was a war movie, and it followed all those things, +1 for following the by laws, -1 for no originality. Its a tail of fellowship, and doing whats right. Like i said, decent. Historically Accurate? Got me. Prob not. If you know, let me know. IS it worth seeing? Yeah Sure- Kiera Knightly is in it. O yeah, the Saxton Leader. Here is the casting convo:
Man 1: “Hey, for this guy, lets find a huge guy, who sucks at acting, who is not steven segaul.”
Man 2: “And a texas accent for good measure.”
Thats it im done- go see it if you want- its preet much what I expected. Later

  • Dodgeball – Good, Funny- 5

Let me tell you all something about movies, as im sure at least one will have a problem with me rating this movie as “Good”. Since there are different genres of movies, you cant rate every movie on the same scale. you have to look at what the movie intended to do, and then rate it. All movie look to entertain, therefore, obviously if it does not entertain you, well- its not good. But anyway, Dodgeball is a Comedy. Its sole purpose is to make you laugh. And well, if you dont laugh at this movie, you have no sense of humor. On to the review.

Dodgeball, for the most part, was predictable, which allows you to focus more on the comedy. There were alot of jokes, both Obvious and Subtle. Makes you need to see it again so u catch everything. Ben Stiller, Vince Vaugh, and the very beautiful Christine Taylor were all very good. The story was funny, and predictable. But mostly funny. There was seldom no laughter in the theater. Make Sure you stay till after the credits so you see the extra scene. Later!
