A couple of weeks ago I made the decision to move Creator Courses off of an early version of Liquid Web’s Managed WordPress hosting and onto their new Managed WooCommerce Hosting by Nexcess. I was concerned about a number of things, like performance/speed, development environments, and overall feature set. Let me tell you: I am not disappointed.

And while I struggled a bit – I went in totally cold – towards the end I discovered a fantastic integration with WooCommerce Subscriptions that solved one of my problems. That solution allows me to eliminate custom code and lighten my website quite a bit.

(more…)One of my goals for 2020 is to do more in front of the camera. I’ve been posting regularly to my YouTube channel. I also want more of my courses to include in-front of the camera work. But beyond that, my intention was to do more live streams, office hours, and webinars. This was true before many of us were faced with putting our normally in-person content online.
Now this is even more important. So here’s how you can affordably host a live stream or webinar. Now I have a whole setup that I’ve put lots of time and money into. But the goal is easily and cost-effectively. So let’s get started.

(more…)My yearly theme for 2020 is Depth, which means I want to cut away a lot of stuff I don’t need to do, and really dig in deep on a few select activities – both personal and professional. One of the focus areas is using more tools to my advantage and automating more. This will allow me to do fewer small tasks, so I can handle the big tasks. And over the holiday break, I automated 3 areas of my podcast that I’ve been meaning to do for a long time.
