The Diet: Week 1

While speaking with Colin yesterday about my on-and-off commitment to weight loss and how I’m not making the progress I’d like, he mentioned something he did called, “The Diet.” He’d blog every week or two about his progress. I’d like to start that up today. Below is my current weight and goal. My incentive? I’m getting married. Here goes nothing!

Current Weight: 241 lbs

Goal: 170 lbs

That’s 71 pounds I need to lose. Let’s give it a year.

  1. I’m wanting to do the same, for the same reason 🙂 I’m also getting married likely early 2015 and would like to lose about 25 lbs. I’m not going to post what I am now and where I would like to be though 😉 I started yesterday being more aggressive with exercise and eating right.

I wish you all the best of luck 🙂 It’s tough to do. I’ve been trying to lose weight for four years now, and I keep gaining it.

  2. Very realistic goals. I lost a similar amount in a year, so you can definitely do it! And holding yourself accountable like this is a perfect way to start keeping yourself in check. For me I started by cutting back my intake walking everywhere, and especially lake Scranton.

Now I started in the summer, so my 2 laps a day would probably not be realistic for you (especially at this time of year) but there’s definitely options.

Just keep at it, baby steps add up in collective magnitude, but also grow separately as well until they achieve a full stride.
