Inaugural NEPA WordPress Meetup

I know I haven’t been on in a while, but it’s for good reason: I’ve been busy movin’ and shakin’ and WordPressin’. My friend and co-worker Phil Erb and I have put together a WordPress Meetup here in Scranton and we’re very excited to announce that the first one is this Tuesday, February 19th.

Phil and I put together this group because we know that there are a lot of people in Northeastern PA who love WordPress just as much as we do. There is also a great technology presence in the area and we wanted to tap into that. The group will be a great chance to learn and network. From our website:

We hope to bring out the WordPress bloggers, designers, developers, enthusiasts, and users here in Scranton and the greater NEPA area to have some good discussions about our favorite web-bassed platform.

So if you’re free this Tuesday, February 19th at 7pm, come down to the Vintage Theater in Scranton and talk WordPress with us. It’s a free event and there will be coffee and wifi!

He spent several minutes on Five for the Future, a program encouraging companies who make money with WordPress to give 5% of their time to the open source project. And while I strongly recommend contributing, I don’t think it’s the path someone should take when they first learn.
