Some of my Favorite Books

Over at Coalwork we discussed starting a book club for the members. We’re still working out the details and getting interest, but it got me thinking of what books I would recommend to the group as well as ones I want to read. I’ve decided to compile a short list here.

Books I’ve Read*:

• The Book Thief
• Masters of Doom
• The Year Without Pants
• The Last Lecture
• The Kite Runner
• Kenobi
• The Divergent Series
• Prey
• Bringing Down the House
• The Accidental Billionaires
• Pretty Much Anything by Chuck Palahniuk (specifically Fight Club, Choke, Survivor, Invisible Monsters, Snuff)

*I left books like The Harry Potter Series and The Hunger Games series off because at this point, I don’t think I need to recommend them.

On my Reading List:

• The Ghost of my Father
• California
• Javascript & jQuery
• The Cuckoo’s Calling (Cormoran Strike)

Over the summer I decided to read before bed instead of watching TV, but got away from that after I finished reading The Book Thief. Now I have my (very) short list here, a much longer list at home, and it’s getting longer, so I’d like to get back into doing that! I’ll start with The Ghost of my Father and go from there!
