How to Point a Custom Domain to ConvertKit

My favorite Email Service Provider for creators is ConvertKit.

It’s flexible and has a ton of features for sorting, tagging, and even selling products. In fact, if I need to spin up something quickly to sell a digital product, chances are I’m using ConverKit.

A big contributing factor to that is the ability to point to custom domains. Imagine having a website where you can sell digital products without having to actually build a website? That’s what ConvertKit allows you to do. So today I’m sending you a video tutorial on how to point a custom domain to ConvertKit, which you can use for landing pages, eCommerce, a members-only newsletter, or anything else you can think of.

I’d love to hear your thoughts. How can this help you? Let me know!

An Update on my YouTube Channel

One of the biggest takeaways from my personal retreat in May was that I need to focus my business and stop dividing my time. I’ve decided to fully focus on podcasting, which means spending less time on other stuff, like WordPress. Since WordPress is the primary topic of my main channel, I’m going to be putting out fewer videos there.

A few changes are coming around these parts as I change the focus of my business. But don’t worry…I’m not really going anywhere. You can still find my live streams there, and I’ll still build in public on that channel. But all of my polished videos will be going to my new channel for Podcast Liftoff.

3 StoreBuilder Features That Make it the Best eCommerce Solution

Ah, the age-old question: do you want ease of use, or the freedom to do with you want with your eCommerce store? Shopify is easy but expensive (especially since they take a transaction cut). But WooCommerce and other self-hosted platforms are hard to set up and harder to maintain…until now.

With Nexcess’ StoreBuilder, you can have the best of both worlds: the ease of use from Shopify, and the freedom and flexibility of WordPress/WooCommerce. Here are my Top 3 features of StoreBuilder:

  1. A simplified WordPress Dashboard menu. The Dashboard can get extremely messy – especially when you add in WooCommerce. With StoreBuilder, the team rebuilt the menu to make it more simplified, which in turn makes it easier to find the crucial areas you need to run your online store.
  2. A vastly improved Setup Wizard. The WooCommerce wizard is fine, but the StoreBuilder wizard is next level. You can choose from tons of great designs, make customizations, and set up your shop in a few clicks. Plus, you don’t have to worry about upsells! It even includes helpful videos from WP101 directly inline, to help you along.
  3. Access to lots of premium plugins. One of the great things about StoreBuilder is that you get access to premium plugins you’d otherwise need to pay for. From security and backups, to abandoned cart plugins, you get everything you need without any fuss.

Try StoreBuilder risk-free for 30 days. Then it’s just $19/mo.

Do We Need ANOTHER WordPress Hosting Company?

WordPress hosting companies are a dime a dozen these days, and if you’re going to be one, you need to differentiate yourself. This could be by offering managed WooCommerce hosting, adding on a theme shop for all customers, or creating a fantastic local development environment that integrates perfectly.

When it comes to WordPress host WPX, there are 3 features that differentiate them from competitors. Two of them, their CDN and Migrations, aren’t totally unique.

But their support guarantee to get your site back online as fast as possible for free: now that’s a host of a different color. Check out the video to get my thoughts.

Is My Disdain for Jetpack Unfounded?

I’ve had a love-hate relationship with Jetpack. Actually, it has been more hate than love. Actually, it has been just pretty much hate. But today I set out to answer the question: Is my disdain for Jetpack unfounded? Today, I set out to answer that question.

In this video I’ll:

  1. Install and Configure Jetpack
  2. Take a tour of all of the features
  3. Take a close look at the performance and social features
  4. Review the available blocks
  5. Give my pros and cons, then final conclusion.

Save Time and Embarrassment with TextExpander

How many typos do you make when you’re writing? How many times do you need to retype emails you’ve already written? Or find URLs, emails, and other information you wish you had readily available? You need a tool to help you manage all of this and save you time. That’s where TextExpander comes in.

If you’re a creator, podcaster, or small business owner, you’re probably a little strapped for time…or at least it can feel like it. And while I highly recommend automating with Zapier or Shortcuts, there’s a much lower barrier for entry: TextExpander.

You’d be surprised how much time keyboard shortcuts for commonly typed text can save you. On-time of actual keystroke hours, I no longer have to hunt for URLs or code, and I don’t have to re-create emails I send regularly. So today, I’m going to show you my favorite ways to use TextExpander.

Check out TextExpander and get 20% off your first year.

How to Get More Subscribers with QR Codes (QRTIGER Review)

In-person conferences are coming BACK and I’m SO excited. One of my goals for conferences this year is to get more people to listen to my podcast. And while that can be an arduous task (“Yeah check out my podcast”), QRTIGER provides a good solution: create a QR code.

We’ll create the code with a dynamic link that includes analytics, and add it to a business card – allowing conference attendees to subscribe right then and there!

How to Use Stripe to Sell Courses in LearnDash

LearnDash is perhaps the best LMS plugin for WordPress. It does a ton out of the box, allowing you to sell single courses, memberships, and subscriptions, issue certificates, and more. But one thing that isn’t included is Stripe integration. Luckily, there’s a free add-on. While Stripe integration got more secure, it also got more complicated.

So here’s a step-by-step guide on how to connect Stripe to LearnDash.
