One thing I often forget to do is update social links when I’m promoting a new blog post or podcast episode. Especially on Instagram, I’ll say something like, “link in the profile,”1 only to forget to add the link to the profile! Services like Linktree help a little, but you still need to update. Well over a couple of days, I built a plugin to help me (and hopefully you) with this little problem.
(more…)Well it’s that time of year, where there are lots of deals that I’d rather buy for myself than for others. I think nothing better encapsulates that than the digital deals going on in the WordPress /online worker space. I mean don’t get me wrong, I’d love to get a great deal on hosting. But I’d be disappointed if someone got me hosting for Christmas. That said, it’s the best time of year to save yourself some money while making those last minute end of the year business purchases. Here are my favorite (mostly) WordPress Cyber Weekend Deals.
Over the weekend I released Version 0.6 of my @simplecast plugin, Simplecast Episodes. Aside from some smaller internal changes, I added what I think is a pretty nice feature to coincide with WordPress 3.9’s new feature to create media playlists from audio and video: the ability to download episodes directly into WordPress, adding them to the media library.
Over the weekend, I announced on Twitter that I officially released a plugin I’ve been working on for a while called Simplecast Episodes, which allows you to add and embed podcasts hosted at simplecast.fm into WordPress. I’m happy to say that it’s officially in the WordPress Plugin Directory.
A couple of weeks ago, when I officially launched the redesign, I mentioned the forthcoming release of a plugin I wrote for the redesign. Random Code Generator is that plugin. I needed a plugin that generated a random promotional code and stored it in a database. I’m currently using it on Manifest Development to manage various promotions and ‘prizes’ I have going on, to make sure people can get a code, but cannot use it twice.
