What is an Action in Zapier?

Ever feel overwhelmed trying to keep track of everything…like following up with a coaching lead or even remembering to end your workday?

Automations can fix that—but only if you understand this key part: actions.

The second component of any automation is the action. The trigger is the “what starts it,” but the action is what actually happens.

Let’s say someone joins your mailing list (trigger). The action can be:

? Send them a free PDF

? Send a welcome video

? Add them to your CRM

? Set a reminder to follow up

It doesn’t have to be business-focused either.

Every day at 6 p.m., I have a trigger that changes my office lights to red. That tells me it’s time to wrap up work and focus on my family.

What do you wish could just happen automatically?

Start by asking: “When THIS happens, what do I want to happen next?”

Hey, I'm Joe Casabona.

? I talk a lot about automations and systems. I help solopreneurs use tech to prevent burnout (not be more overwhelmed).
