  • Time

It seems I am very short of it lately. On top of school and my extracurriculars, I seem to be getting a good number of web design jobs. While the work load isn’t too much to handle [yet], it is taking a good chunk of my time up. I’m also finding it tough trying to keep organized, and remembering what I have to do and when I have to do it. I am meeting my deadlines, given that there are no snags at other ends, but I just feel overwhelmed. With the upcoming time off, hopefully I will be able to alleviate some of this and finally feel like I am on track. Later!

  • The Misfits!

    The Misfits

The Misfits show was awesome! Well- let me rephrase. When the Misfits played, it was incredible! However, there was 6 hours of opening bands. door opened at 6, the ‘Fits came on a little after 12. When they came on it was crazy though. Great Halloween set, and they opened with Halloween. They played for about hour- songs included Last Caress, Helena (Phil’s favorite song), Teenagers from Mars and American Psycho. Every song was at a really fast tempo. Like songs on speed. They came out for an encore, played Die Die my Darling, Rise Above, and ended on We are 138. It was some High Octane fun, plus, Jerry Only came right off the stage and started signing shit. Great night! Later!

  • Bloc Party!

    Bloc Party

The Bloc Party concert in Philly this past weekend was absolutly amazing. After the opening acts, [insert name] was weird and excentric, but got better towards the end. They had one song, Monte Cristo that was really good. I’m sorry I don’t know the name of the band. The Kills came on after that, and I liked them. The girl, though she did kinda look like the chick from The Ring, was totally hot. But then it was time for the main event.
Bloc Party came on at 10, and went crazy. They are great performers. The light show was great, and the crowd was pretty cool. I didn’t really expect any ‘moshing’ or jumping around, and there was a lot. Everyone just went nuts for Banquet and Helicopter. They played until about 11, and then came out for 2 encores, and ended on The Answer, which was great. I also really enjoyed their performance of Pioneers which is a song I love. If you have never heard of Bloc Party, you can check them out here. Later!

  • Nothing good to say

I try not to make this a personal blog. Soon enough I will be blogging about my CS 2 adventures- Level 2 programming in Java. Until then, I really don’t have much to talk about. Project wise, I just got O’Reilly’s PHP Cookbook, so I will be doing some work out of there, on the little free time I have. I am also Evaluating software call “Hot Potatoes” for work, but that will probably be of little or no interest to anyone, unless you work for an educational institution. I apologize that I have nothing better to say, at least not for now, but with school and everything, I’ve been busy, and life’s been kind of uneventful. Later

  • Paintball

    war tired peter

Yesterday was the trip I organized to Skirmish to play paintball. Originally 11 and then dropping to 9, we set off yesterday morning around 6 to Skirmish USA for a day of war and paint (but not war paint). Arriving at approx. 9AM, we checked in, got supplies and headed off. Since we were only 9, we teamed up with a couple of other groups and had about 50 people (except for at tippman castle) and I’ve got to say, when we had our whole little platoon together, we did well. Some highlights included the 3rd game, when we set up a little bunker, phil and pete down on the ground, me and mikey watching the field. We took out quite a few guys there. However, someone to remain nameless dropped the ball, and we got flanked from behind. When I noticed, it was too late- though both me and pete claimed to have taken out 2 guys from the flank each. There were only 3 guys in that flank. Someone cheated. Another good set of games were the tippmann castle games. There were about 100 guys. We attacked first. We did well with moving forward- Gillan even made it to the castle wall. But we were the only 9 moving really. So everyone but me fell. It kinda sucked cause I was stuck in this one spot. But i took out a few in the windows. Then, we defended. Peter had a staggering 21 kills that game. I didn’t see that much action until later in the game. I didn’t take out as many, but I took charge in the center tower- and I had a 100% killing rate. When Pete came it got better, as I was dealing with mostly ‘little bitches’ who were scared. One kid even said ‘Im a runner’. One kid didn’t even look out the window for me, and one kid sat in the corner. One guy dove onto me to not get shot and I had to take the kid out. But it was good when Pete came. We covered each other, and each window.
Those were pretty much the highlights. At the end of the day, as you might be able to tell from pete’s pic, we were beat. I can’t wait to do it again. Later.

  • Its been a while

Yes yes, I haven’t written in a while. I have been busy, and it does not look to slow down any, aside from the fact that last Thursday was my last day in a summer long construction job. It was a learning expirience, as well as good money. However, I am just not cut out for that kind of work.
Well, since i’m now seemingly unemployed for a while, what will be taking up my time?? For one, the Scranton Chamber of Commerce asked me to work on a website for this College Nite Out even they are having. Also, as the exec. tech guy and webmaster of the University of Scranton Student Government, I have some work to do there too. I also have a new endevore I am currently working on.
Then there is the regular housekeeping stuff- clean room, prepare for school (I move into my apt. soon) and of course, there is a paintball trip this weekend that I organized, and must see that all goes well. So that is it for now- as for the site redesign, the template is done, I just need to add content to it. Later!

  • The U2 Concert

    Bono

The culmination of 2 weeks of fun, excitment and some boozing. 12 days after I arrive in Dublin Int’l Airport, 11 days after our first night out, 8 days after Sean’s party, 3 days after I saw the most beautiful country side, after months of waiting, I saw U2. And it was incredible. The stage, the lights, the energy. Bono and the boys know how to put on a show. They came on at about 8:50pm- it was still light out. The opened with Vertigo. They played for about 2 and a half hours. They closed with Vertigo. The middle was a barrage of emotion and music coming both from the band and the audience. Durring Sometimes you can’t make it on your own Bono took his shades off, went off stage, and sang with every ounce of feeling he put into writing the song- everything the inspired him. The cameras focused on him the whole time. You could feel connected to him. He knows what he is doing and that is why U2 is arguably the greatest band in the world. The emotion Bono put into the performance is only comparable to the energy. Durring Sunday, Bloody Sunday and Where the Streets have no Name the crowd exploded in a burst of energy resonating from the stage and the whole place errupted and we sang along with Bono. Durring 2 parts of the show, Bono pulled audience members up on stage- one to give her a hug as he sang to her at the edge of the runway- and one so he could play guitar with them durring one of the songs. 90,000 people witnessed what was probably those people’s lives changing. I mean, how many people can say they jammed with Bono, or Bono sang to you. Only a handful. After the show I was left speechless and breathless- I have never been so exhausted after a show in my life. If you ever get the chance to see these guys live, do not pass it up. Later.

  • HIM/Philly

It would be a lie, thought not a major one, if i said that this concert was as good as the 1st one. However, This was an amazing trip. Monster Magnet sucked really bad. End of Story. When HIM came on (introduced by Phil and Ape Margera), that opened with Burried Alive by Love, like last time. They played basically the same set of songs, as well as Its All Tears and Love Said No, 2 songs i was really hoping to hear. Whats great about the HIM concerts is that Valo is very off the cuff (probably because he is drunk). He will say whatever is on his mind and

everything he says is cool. The show was great. Afterwards we waited a little, and met Ape and Phil, and they are so cool. So we left after that cause it was cold and it could only be assumed that Valo and Bam were getting tanked. Today we went to FDR, Bam’s main skate spot in Philly, and phil skated a little. All the pics from this weekend will be up soon, including a couple of good city line photos. Later!
