How I Learned to Stop Doing Everything Myself

“If I want it done right, I have to do it myself.”

I believed this for most of my life, right up until I had a panic attack. My wife was a nurse, and I was balancing her longer hours at the hospital, raising 2 small kids, and running my business. In November 2020.

The worst part was when my 3-year-old handed me a bottle of water and told me, “Everything will be OK, Daddy.” I knew something had to change.

After that, I took everything I possibly could off my plate. I put systems in place — especially around my podcast and content creation. I automated as many manual tasks as I could. I delegated tasks I didn’t need to do.

It worked. Instead of being in the weeds, I got to focus on my most important work. Instead of being the bottleneck, things kept running smoothly without me.

Turns out I don’t have to do everything myself.

A year later, on Christmas Eve, we welcomed our 3rd child and I took 6 weeks off for paternity leave. The business kept on running.

I know many solopreneurs risk burnout because like me in 2020, they believe they need to do everything themselves. They’re constantly putting out fires instead of creating predictable income.

And worst of all, they miss out on family time, vacations, or relaxing nights because they feel they can’t take time off.

I want to help as many solopreneurs as possible do what I did: put systems in place to help them run their business before they have a panic attack.

After 18+ years of being a teacher, systems builder, and solopreneur, I know what it takes — and I’ll work directly with you to create personalized solutions to your problems.
