How My Organization Tools Have Changed
A while back I wrote about how I stay organized. The process isn’t dramatically different, but the gear has changed and I’ve gotten some questions about it – so here’s an update!

(more…)A little bit before the beginning of the semester, I started to reflect on the fact that this is my 5th year teaching in some capacity. Two of those years I was doing double duty as both a Student and Teaching Assistant, but I’ll still count it. It has however, been three years since I’ve been a student at all, and a lot has changed in those three years. Being a student for the 2012-2013 school year is a lot different than being one for the 2006-2007 year (my last year as an undergrad), or even the 2008-2009 year (my last year as a grad student). Expectations change, and as a teacher, I need to learn how to adapt.
In my online travels recently, I came across several stories talking about the merit of e-readers, and specifically reading comprehension when using them. The first story I came across (via Lifehacker) was on Time and titled, Do E-Books Make It Harder to Remember What You Just Read? I thought a little about the claim and how the author supports it, but I cynically thought that Time has something to gain since they do produce print media primarily. Then I followed the link talking about Larry Page, co-founder of Google, thinking the same thing.
