The Super Size Me guy

The only reason I am witting about him now is because he is making “waves” in the news again. He is working on a new documentary:

Morgan Spurlock, the brave soul who ate nothing but McDonald’s for one month and filmed it for his documentary Super Size Me, has announced that his next project will be The Republican War of Science.

This is the man who told us nothing and won an Oscar for it. I don’t know how many of my readers saw this, but I’ve got to say it is one of the worst documentaries I have ever seen. (I haven’t seen Fahrenheit 9/11 and refuse too). Morgan eats only McDonald’s for 30 days straight to prove what people already know: It’s bad for you. He put himself through agony, got very ill and brought himself close to death to make a damn movie about how bad the food really is. That, hey, you can’t just eat McDonald’s for 30 days. Well I’ll be damned. Here’s the thing. You can’t eat just one thing/type of one thing for an extended period of time. But, let’s not go there.

Now, he is making a new documentary. One about republicans and science. His very own political documentary, in which he bought the rights to a book to produce. I find this disturbing for 2 reasons, the first is obvious. He is making a documentary based on someone else’s book/opinion/observations. This movie is not what Morgan thinks, but what Morgan agrees with and said, “Hey, I’ll make a movie about what this guy wrote.” Somehow, that shouldn’t fly with documentaries. The second reason is that this guy really isn’t an authority on science or politics.

Announcing the project, Spurlock said: “There was a time when science was respected by politicians and government officials, and when the information obtained through unbiased scientific exploration was used for the better of society. Today, all of that is being ignored, manipulated and/or used incorrectly to further political agendas. Now more than ever, we need the real answers to the big questions.”

Right….integrity, respect, blah- he wants to ‘expose the conservatives and their evil ways.’ Michael Moore wanted to do that, and where is he right now?? Morgan, maybe you should move away from documentaries and onto something more your speed. Like shoveling shit. You seem to be good at that. Later
