WordPress Freelance Coaching Program: Start 2018 off right

Start 2018 off Right with the WordPress Freelance Coaching Program

You might know my freelance origin story. It’s one I tell a lot, at WordCamps and on podcasts. I sort of fell into it when I was 15 years old. My church asked if I could make them a website. After I declined, they offered to pay me. Pay me to learn? How could I pass it up! This predates WordPress, so I did everything using Microsoft Frontpage, then moved Notepad++. In 2004, I mentioned to my friend Stephen that I was thinking of building a CMS. He showed me WordPress, and the rest is history. For 16 years, I’ve been freelancing. I have used WordPress for most of that time. I get questions about both topics regularly, and I wanted to create a program for me to help WordPress freelancers specifically. So I created the WordPress Freelance Coaching Program.

The WordPress Freelance Coaching Program was created specifically with freelancers who use WordPress in mind. There are tons of general freelancing courses and programs out there, but there aren’t a whole lot of programs tailored to the trials and tribulations of using WordPress regularly for your business. We’ll tackle questions like, “who should handle updating the site?” and “Should I use my developer license key for a client?” But most importantly, I will answer an specific questions that you have.

So what’s the deal with this program exactly, and is it right for you?

What is the WordPress Freelance Coaching Program?

WordPress Freelance Coaching is a 6-Week mentorship program where I work with a small group of freelancers to improve their process for selling & creating WordPress websites. At the end of the program, attendees will have better insight and concrete answers to common questions that surround creating WordPress websites for clients. The program is for freelancers who use WordPress in most of their client projects but often find themselves re-solving the same problems or asking the same questions over and over again.

We will meet online for 6 weeks from February 1st through March 8th. Each meeting will tackle 1-2 of the topics below, and each meeting will have built-in time for me to answer your questions. You will also have an assignment or exercise to complete each week designed to help you answer questions about your business!

The program runs from February 1st – March 8th, 2018 and is $998.

What Does the Coaching Program Include?

  • 6 online meetings where you can ask questions specific to your business
  • Calls recorded and sent to attendees
  • Sample contracts, training documents, checklists, and other helpful material
  • 3 Weeks of post-program support to answer “in the moment” questions (that’s 9 weeks total!)
  • Access to a Slack Community

We will also cover the following topics:

  1. Selling potential clients on WordPress (answering questions like “isn’t it just a blog?” and “I heard it’s not secure.”)
  2. Where to Start (theme, child theme, ready-made theme, page builder, etc)
  3. How much access is too much?
  4. What exactly should be editable vs. static
  5. The best plugins for you, the freelancer
  6. Training your clients
  7. Handing off the site
  8. Support & Maintenance, Security, and other post-launch items
