Keep Internet out of UN control, says US
The Bush administration is backing a US Senate resolution to stop the UN in its plans to try and move some control of the Internet away from the US
Now I normally don’t post digg stories here, but this is one for discussion. The UN wants to have more control over the internet, a technology funded, created and developed by the US’ Department of Defense. I agree 100% with the administration’s decision on this, believeing we should keep control of the internet here- it’s home. The article raises good points about what might happen if China, Iran or Syria had more control over it, and I think it’s agreeable that the internet is the best example of free/true information exchange, if you know where to look.
Besides, what has the US done wrong? From what I can see, the internet is doing just fine. What does the UN want to do with teh internet?? It’s working fine and should stay as is. Later!
